HOMESTEAD
Directly across the river from Pittsburgh, Homestead sits on the south bank of the Monangahela, with population 3,165. Homestead has a rich history, evidenced by the many downtown buildings on the National Register of Historic Places which recognize the borough’s impact in the steel industry and labor movements. The Borough has put old mill and industrial spaces to new use, including the development of the Waterfront shopping plaza along the Mon and Voodoo Brewery in the old municipal building.
